Our ambassador, Kai, introduced us to the wonderful world of Shih Tzu’s. He was adopted at a local shelter by Andre, as a senior dog. He was small, shaved almost to his skin and tired. He had stayed with the vet staff for about 2 weeks, recovering from multiple infections. As he was nursed back to health and stole our hearts!
As we learned about this wonderful breed, we became quick spokespersons for the breed. We added to our family with Grogu and Mando (shoutout to our Star Wars fans), both fun-loving pups.
Our goal at Dancing Sun Breeding, is to better the breed, with selective breeding by our Sires. We would love to hear from you! Please contact us to arrange a meet and greet; we are conveniently located in the south Tampa Bay region.
Sincerely,
Andre & Lisa

The name Shih Tzu means ‘little lion’, given to them from the Tibetan royalty from times past. Since they were bred as companion dogs and reserved for only royalty, they were bred with certain traits in mind. They have little to no genetic health issues, they have a long life span (10-18 years), very intelligent, and have mild temperaments.
Shih Tzu’s are part of the toy breed group, are hypo-allergenic, great with children and other pets and perfect for small spaces. Their hair can be cut short or kept long; however, regardless of the style please remember to maintain a good grooming routine. You’ll notice minimal, if no, shedding, keeping cleaning time a snap!
